QUILTY PLEASURE
We’re always looking for comfy-chic layers to alternate during transitional weather, that are also easy to wear and style. Quilted jackets, especially the utility liner versions, started surfacing last spring. We’re loving the 80s and 90s-inspired versions peaking now - so why not thrift the real thing? There are lots of vintage versions with different styling options.
STYLING TIPS: My favorites are the printed silk jackets you can easily wear indoors layered over a blouse or dress up a T-shirt. But you can also go 80’s glam with a printed classic silhouette with a collar, great for outerwear during misty-cool weather when you jean jacket isn’t quite enough. Or, go for sporty, utility versions that add a slouchy cool-factor to jeans & sneakers.
TRICK OF THE TRADE: When searching for items like this vintage, it’s helpful to search by material or detail in addition to texture. If none of the below options are perfect for you, see if there’s an element you like [cropped or boxy cut, buttons, collar, specific print] to help narrow your search.
